WI vs IND, 2nd T20I: Brandon King And McCoy Crushed India, Won The Match By 5 Wickets

The second match of the five-match T20I series between India and the West Indies started on 01 August (Monday) in St Kitts. The match started 3 hours after the scheduled time as the team’s kits did not arrive on time. West Indies put up a superb bowling attack to defeat the men in blue by 5 wickets.

India got all out and managed to score only 138 runs with 2 balls remaining in the innings. West Indies struggles but chased down the score in the last over with 5 wickets in hand. Obed McCoy took 6 wickets for 17 runs for the West Indies.

West Indies won the toss and decided to bowl first. India did not start well in their innings and captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed on the very first ball. Indian batters could not capitalise on the pitch and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Dinesh Kartik was not able to finish the innings and rushed to the pavilion with forgettable innings of 7 from 13 balls.
For the West Indies, Obed McCoy bowled his career-best figures of 6-17 and dismantled the Indian batting order, restricting them to a cheap score.

West Indies started well into the chase and started attacking bowlers without losing the wickets. Brandon King played a composed inning of 68 runs. But he could not take the side home, so Indian bowlers started putting pressure after the powerplay. Despite an attacking cameo from Nicholas Pooran, Indian bowlers squeezed the West Indian innings and took it to the last over. Avesh Khan in the final over lost the plot and with help of the brave innings of Devon Thomas of 31 runs from 19 balls, West Indies emerged victorious.

Obed McCoy was adjudged well-deserved Player of the Match for his 6 wickets for 17 runs
