Why Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya And Ruturaj Gaikwad Dropped From The Three-match T20I Series Against Afghanistan?

Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya won’t feature in the upcoming three-match series against Afghanistan, starting on January 11. Hardik Pandya who captained the national team in several T20Is when Rohit Sharma was absent, is still recuperating from an ankle injury.

Pandya is presently undergoing rehabilitation, concentrating on strength and conditioning, and is expected to make a comeback in the upcoming Indian Premier League.

Yadav is also expected to stage his comeback during the major tournament, having sustained an ankle injury during the series against South Africa and subsequently undergoing surgery. Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad is also unavailable due to a finger injury.

However, the return of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have given a big relief to the Indian Cricketer fans. Both veterans will be making their first T20 appearance for India after the 2022 T20 World Cup.

Selectors have also dropped Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson has been picked as the regular wicket-keeper along with Jitesh Sharma who has impressed everyone with his sensible hitting.

The three-match T20I series between India and Afghanistan will start on January 11 at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali. Indore will host the second game on January 11 along with the third game in Bangalore on January 17.
