Why Mohammed Shami Is Not Playing The Third Test vs Australia, Captain Rohit Sharma Gives The Reason

India and Australia are facing each other in the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar trophy at Holkar Stadium in Indore. In this match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first.

However, when Rohit Sharma announced the playing XI of the third, fans were disappointed not to see the star pacer Mohammed Shami’s name in the final XI.

Shami’s absence from the Test was clarified by skipper Rohit Sharma, who stated that the fast bowler had been rested. Sharma also made an interesting comment on speculations regarding the preparation of the playing surface for the fourth Test match in Ahmedabad.

“We aren’t there yet (WTC final) and we have to come and win this game, we have to try and repeat the things we did in the first two Tests. It is important to stay present. We have made two changes – Gill comes in place of KL. We have rested Shami,” Rohit said after the toss.

Team India bundled out 109 runs in 33.2 overs. For India, Virat Kohli smashed the most 22 runs while Shubman Gill managed to get 21 runs. For Australia, M Kuhnemann grabbed the maximum of five wickets while Nathan Lyon got 3 wickets.
