The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the awaited schedule with respect to the Indian Premier League 2025 on March 22 in Kolkata. The defending champions will fight their first match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The final will be on May 25.
RCB will have a maximum of two home encounters during their first six matches as they travel most of the time during their initial stretch. Ending its wait for an IPL title, the Bengaluru franchise is gearing up to start its campaign under a new captain, Rajat Patidar, and is expected to bank on him.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians will be kicking off their IPL 2025 campaign against Chennai Super Kings at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 23. MI will be missing its regular captain Hardik Pandya for their opener as he is serving a one-match ban for MI’s third slow-over rate last season.
MI meets CSK two times in IPL 2025, however, RCB presents just one fixture against MI in IPL 2025 according to common nomenclature reverse fixtures.
10 teams in IPL are virtually divided into Groups. Group 1 is made up of KKR, RCB, Rajasthan Royals, CSK and Punjab Kings, and Group 2 is made up of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, MI and Lucknow Super Giants.
Teams placed in the same group will meet twice, while they face at least one more team from the other group to meet thrice. RCB and MI belong to separate and non-identical groups. RCB and DC are in opposite groups but same column and play against each other twice.
