Why IPL Final Reserve Day Increased The Tension of Indian Team? They May Be Get Some Setback Regarding WTC Final

The much-anticipated final of IPL 2023, scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad on 28th May, faced an unexpected hurdle as heavy rain forced a rescheduling. Consequently, the match between the Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans will now be held on 29th May.

While this change may seem minor, it carries significant implications for Team India’s preparations for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) Final against Australia, which is set to begin on 7th June. 3 players included in the Indian squad for the WTC Final will now reach England with a delay of 2 days due to the IPL final moving forward by 1 day.

The rain-induced postponement of the IPL 2023 final means that Shubman Gill, Mohammed Shami, and Ravindra Jadeja are part of the IPL 2023 final to be played between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans, and now these three players will reach England 2 days later than expected. Originally, they were scheduled to arrive in London by 30th May. However, due to rescheduling the IPL final, they will now touch down in London only after 31st May. With the crucial clash against Australia commencing on 7th June, this delay challenges Team India’s preparations.

Head coach Rahul Dravid’s complete squad will only be available after 1st June. This leaves the trio a relatively shorter period to prepare adequately for the high-stakes encounter against Australia. Nevertheless, the team management intends to make the most of the available time, organizing intra-squad matches and focusing on intensive training sessions.

Early Arrivals and Standby Players: It is worth noting that a group of players, including Virat Kohli, R Ashwin, Axar Patel, and Umesh Yadav, arrived in London on 24th May itself. These players, representing Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore, had been eliminated from the IPL playoffs early, affording them additional time for acclimatization and training. Captain Rohit Sharma and standby player Yashasvi Jaiswal joined the squad on Sunday, while Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav are expected to reach England by Monday.

While the delayed arrival of Gill, Shami, and Jadeja presents a challenge, the Indian team will adapt and make the most of the situation. The coaching staff, led by Rahul Dravid, is known for meticulous planning and strategizing, ensuring that the players quickly adjust and immerse themselves in their preparations. Despite the altered timeline, the team will aim to create a conducive environment for the players to hit their stride before the WTC Final.
