Former Indian opener and one of the most celebrated commentators Aakash Chopra has talked about the star Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Bhuvi had a magical spell against Rajasthan Royals and in the last over he saved 13 runs to win the match against RR.
Chopra has said that like Trent Boult, Bhuvneshwar Kumar never gets credit and appreciation for taking wickets from the new ball. Like Boult, Bhuvi also possesses the ability to swing the ball in the powerplay overs and create struggles for batters.
While batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad set the target of 202 runs against Rajasthan Royals, thanks to the brilliant batting of Nitish Reddy and Travis Head who scored 76 and 58 respectively. Heinrich Klaasen also contributed with 42 runs in 19 balls.
Rajasthan Royals did not get a good start and they lost Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson in the very first over of the match against Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Kumar then got Rovman Powell on the last ball of the innings and his bowling figure looks like 3/41.
While talking to his official YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra has got praise for Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
The commentator said, “201 was a very decent total and then Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Buttler in the first over and Sanju Samson right after that – two incredible deliveries. He now has 27 wickets in the first over of the powerplay – no one has taken more than him. However, somehow he is underrated.”
“People talk about Trent Boult but no one talks about Bhuvi. Ok, let me say this – Death, taxes, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar taking a wicket in the first over is permanent. He showed that by doing it,” the former India opener added.
