Mo Bobat, the Director of Cricket for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), recently shared his thoughts on the team’s strategic move of acquiring all-rounder Cameron Green ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.
In a significant deal, RCB secured Cameron Green in an all-cash trade from the Mumbai Indians, sealing the deal with a substantial ₹17.5 crore. This financial maneuver also allowed Mumbai to finalize the acquisition of Hardik Pandya.
Bobat expressed confidence in Cameron Green’s ability to play a pivotal role in RCB’s middle-order, bringing a combination of high-quality skills, power-hitting prowess, and versatility. He highlighted Green’s proficiency in facing both pace and spin, making him an ideal candidate for the middle-order power role. Green’s international experience across various formats adds to his batting credentials.
“He is the ideal fit for us in that middle-order power role. He is a high-quality, skillful, and powerful batsman. He has got the game against both pace and spin. He has got international experience across formats and I am sure he will enjoy batting at the Chinnaswamy,” said Bobat, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

Let’s not forget what an exceptional fielder he is. Some of the catches he has taken in recent times fielding at gully is seriously impressive,” he added.
