Former Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal has talked about the mega clash between India and Pakistan in the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Ajmal has said that in the match at the reputed Narendra Modi Stadium, Pakistan bowling will dominate the Indian batter and they will help them to win the match against Rohit Sharmaa & company.
Pakistan’s upcoming match against India is set to take place on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. If we look at history, the Men in Green have never emerged victorious against their arch-rivals in a 50-over World Cup match. However, they will look to break this losing streak and secure a win in the upcoming encounter.
Ajmal gave his thoughts in a podcast at Nadir Ali’s show and said, “India’s batting has always been strong. Our bowling is dangerous. It will be a battle of equals. Right now, I would say Pakistan has a 60% chance of winning. (Are Pakistan favorites?) Yes. In Indian conditions, considering the bowlers Pakistan has, if Pakistan keeps them down to a low score, Pakistan will win.”
Talking further Ajmal claimed that the Indian bowling line in recent times has not been so strong as compared to Pakistan. He believed that Pakistan could get into some trouble with the star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah but he is not good with his fitness.
“India’s bowling lineup has always been weak,” saeed Ajmal. “Of late, Siraj has bowled well. Shami has been bowling well. Among spinners, I think Ravindra Jadeja will be crucial in the World Cup. Jasprit Bumrah could have been a threat to Pakistan, but he has been unfit for quite some time. I don’t think India’s bowling will be much of a threat for Pakistan.”
