Who will be the new IPL chairman replacing Brijesh Patel?

Arun Singh Dhumal, the younger brother of Anurag Thakur, who is the sports minister, will now lead the IPL. He will take Brijesh Patel’s place. Dhumal who was serving as the BCCI Treasurer will be heading the biggest and richest cricket league in the world. According to sources inside the Board of Control for Cricket in India, BJP MLA Ashish Shelar would likely replace Arun Dhumal as Treasurer.

Roger Binny, the 1983 World Cup champion for India, will succeed Sourav Ganguly as BCCI President during the Board’s annual meeting on October 18. Ganguly held the role for three years.

The BCCI Secretary will continue to be Jay Shah.

All office holders from different regions of the country and other organizations submitted nominations for various seats on the board during a BCCI meeting held at the Trident Hotel in Mumbai on Tuesday.

The conversations took place during a BCCI internal meeting before the elections, which are set for October 18. Rajeev Shukla, who will stay on as vice president, is the lone congressman in the BCCI administration.
Ashish Shelar, a prominent BJP politician in Maharashtra, will take on the role of treasurer instead of president of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). With the backing of the Sharad Pawar group, he was scheduled to accept the position.

Devajit Saikia, a trusted assistant of Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, will take over for Jayesh George as the next joint secretary.
On October 18 during the AGM in Mumbai, Binny will formally assume leadership of the BCCI. Every candidate will be picked without opposition, hence there won’t be any elections for any positions.

On October 11 and 12, candidates may submit their nominations, the nominations will be reviewed on October 13, and candidates may withdraw their submissions as late as October 14.

The 16-member International Cricket Council (ICC) Board Chairman position is up for election this November, and Sourav Ganguly, the current BCCI President, is expected to represent India.
