When Will Wanindu Hasaranga Join The Sunrisers Hyderabad For IPL 2024? Manager Gives Massive Update

Wanindu Hasaranga, the captain of Sri Lanka’s T20I team, might be arriving late for the 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, the reason for the delay is not yet known.

In the mini-auction before the IPL 2024, Hasaranga was purchased by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for INR 1.50 crore and is their primary overseas spinner. Currently, SRH is depending on Mayank Markande and Shahbaz Ahmed, who are their Indian spin choices.

The manager of Hasaranga has said that the all-rounder will join the team but he does not have any confirmation of his arrival to the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

“He will join sooner than later,” Hasaranga’s manager told Cricbuzz on Friday (March 29). “All I can say is he will definitely join the team.”

His manager also dismissed rumors suggesting that Hasaranga is not interested in playing for SRH this season due to a lower salary compared to the INR 10.50 crore he received at RCB in the previous season.

“If money was a factor, we could have enrolled for an INR 2 crore base price. Besides, fewer games mean less money. He has to take care of his ankle. He is also the captain of the national team,” his manager added.

“He will join for sure, he wants to enjoy the IPL. We are in touch with the franchise,” Hasaranga’s manager mentioned.
