When Will Virat Kohli Score His Next Century? Sourav Ganguly Gives A Bold Statement

For a long time, Virat Kohli has had trouble maintaining his batting form. The athlete has been unable to reach a century since November 2019, and this year he has struggled to reach half-centuries. However, Sourav Ganguly, the president of the BCCI, is optimistic that the right-handed batter would return for the forthcoming Asia Cup, which begins on August 27. The very next day, India plays Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium to open their campaign in the continental event.

In an interview with Sports Tak, Ganguly was quoted, “ Let him practice, let him play matches. He is a big player and has scored plenty of runs. I am hopeful that he will make a comeback. He is just not able to score a century and I believe he will find his form in the Asia Cup.”

Before missing the white-ball series against the West Indies, which includes three ODIs and five T20Is, Virat Kohli’s most recent international performance was against England in July of this year. A three-match ODI series between India and Zimbabwe, beginning August 18 in Harare, is not included in the squad. However, Kohli is in the India squad for the Asia Cup.

The last century Kohli scored with the bat came in the historic pink-ball Test match against Bangladesh at Eden Gardens in Kolkata in 2019. Kohli’s bat has been quiet for a very long time. Throughout the course of the game, the right-handed hitter did achieve a couple of half-centuries, but it is the tonne that spectators have been anxiously anticipating.
