When Will Mayank Yadav Make His Comeback? LSG Head Coach Justin Langer Gives An Update

Lucknow Super Giants management has given a huge update on the young pacer Mayank Yadav. Head coach Justin Langer Justin gave an important update about the fitness of the young fast bowler. Langer hinted that Mayank might miss the next two matches for LSG in the ongoing IPL season.

During Lucknow’s last match against Gujarat Titans, the 21-year-old bowler had to leave the field after bowling just one over because he might have strained his side. Vinod Bisht, the CEO of the team, later confirmed that the young player felt some discomfort in his lower abdomen.

Before Lucknow’s match against Delhi Capitals, coach Justin Langer mentioned that an MRI scan showed a small swelling in that area.

While having a conversation with ESPNcricinfo, Langer said, “He felt a little bit of tightness at the top of his hip leading into the last game, but that was about a one-out-of-ten pain, and we thought that there were clinical signs. Everything through the doctors and the physios seemed perfectly okay. He bowled that first over [against Titans] and started feeling something in his hip. But we had an MRI scan, and there is a very, very small swelling in there. So we are very hopeful he’ll start building himself up and be back bowling again soon.”

LSG will face Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens just two days after their match against DC. Langer mentioned that having matches in quick succession makes it harder for Mayank to recover. However, he remains optimistic about Mayank’s comeback to bowling.

“That’s the plan [to have Mayank fit for the match against Chennai Super Kings on April 19]. We want him to play every game if possible. But he’ll be working towards it; he’s working very hard every day to be ready for whatever our next game is. He won’t play tomorrow; it’s unlikely… with the very short turnaround, it’s unlikely that he plays these two games. But he’s certainly working towards playing whenever he possibly can,” the coach added.
