When Will Jasprit Bumrah Make His Comeback? Rohit Sharma Gives An Update

Before the Border Gavaskar Trophy, which will begin on February 9, Team India captain Rohit Sharma gave an important update on pace monarch Jasprit Bumrah. After victories in back-to-back 50-over series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand, Rohit Sharma and company are in excellent form.

After winning the final ODI played in Indore by 90 runs, the Men in Blue won a 3-0 series over the Black Caps. After the comfortable win, Rohit answered a question about Jasprit Bumrah’s rejoining the squad after missing time with such a back injury. In addition, he stated that he wants the pacer to play in the final two tests against Australia.

While talking to NDTV, team India’s skipper said, “About (Jasprit) Bumrah, I am not too sure at the moment. For the first two Test matches, of course, he is not going to be available. I am expecting…I am hoping, not expecting, that he plays the next (last) two Test matches (against Australia). We don’t want to take any risks with him as back injuries are always critical. We have a lot of cricket coming back after that as well.”

He further added, “We are in constant touch with physios and doctors in NCA. We will monitor. The medical team will give him as much time as he wants.”

Rohit and company will shift their focus to the Test series against Australia beginning on February 9 after the T20I series against the Kiwis comes to an end. The Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur will host the opening Test.
