When Cricket Will Become A Part Of Olympics? Here Are The Full Details

The Olympics have always set the high standard for athletics and the inclusion of cricket in this mega event has been a matter of discussion for a long time. USA(Los Angeles) will host the 2028 Olympics, while the 2032 Olympics will be based in Brisbane (Australia).

Not sure about cricket in the 2028 Olympics, but Cricket Australia (CA) is already planning to make a way for Cricket in 2032 events. However, whether cricket will be part of the 2032 Olympics or not, all depends upon the proposal to be presented in front of ICC(International Cricket Council) officials.

Let us tell you that the hosting nation can ask for a sport of its own choice and it all depends on whether the International Olympic Council(IOC) will approve it or not. Recently, Birmingham also included women’s cricket in the recently concluded Commonwealth Games 2022.

Speaking on the inclusion of cricket in the Olympics, CA Chief Executive Nick Hockley Said,”This strategy contains both a vision and a clear plan for how we can achieve bold, transformative change while also meeting our core responsibilities.”

He further added,”I would like to thank everyone across the game for their passion and commitment as we work to unite and inspire everyone to love and play cricket, and in doing so make cricket a sport for all that makes Australians proud.”

Also the defending champion Australia has once again expressed their will to win the T20 World Cup to be hosted by the same nation. Last year Australia won the T20 world cup beating New Zealand in the final.

The interesting scenario is that not only CA but the BCCI is also planning to include cricket in the Olympics.
