“What’s the point of going….. Wasim Akram Provided Blunt Comment Over Babar And Amir’s Rivalry In PSL

The rivalry between Pakistani skipper Babar Azam and Pakistani speed merchant Mohammad Amir took another stage when Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi won the match against Karachi Kings in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.

Mohammed Amir wanted to return to the National side of Pakistan but was unsuccessful because of Pakistan cricket board interference. After this, a controversy began between Pakistan all-format skipper Babar Azam and veteran pacer Mohammad Amir. In the Pakistan Super League, veteran pacer Amir claimed that bowling to Babar Azam is like bowling to the tail-enders; both are the same thing for me.

Amir took the wicket of Babar Azam on many occasions, but when he dismissed Babar in the 17th match of the Pakistan Super League on Wednesday. Amir made headlines for the sports channel by dismissing his rival and Pakistani skipper on duck. Amir impressed everyone with his bowling skills, but this time, former Pakistani legendary pacer Wasim Akram was impressed by the pace ace Amir and came out to support him.

“I think we have too much time on our hands. You need characters and a bit of rivalry, and I am all for it. I am all for Amir, the way he has been saying stuff as a bowler,” Akram stated to the media house.

After speaking on Amir and Babar Azam, former Pakistani skipper Wasim Akram further explained that we should enjoy these types of rivalry because they add spice to PSL games. Instead of criticizing them, we should enjoy them.

“What’s the point of going into the PSL game, or any game, and shaking hands with the batter and hugging them? Okay, before the game or after the game, I am all for it but during the game, be professional and these little words off the field also add spice to PSL that’s the beauty of PSL. We should enjoy it instead of criticising individually and consistently,” Akram further added.

Amir is leading the pace attack of Karachi Kings in the PSL 2023. He was seen throwing the ball in anger after the star pacer was hit for a four by Babar during a PSL match. Amir has picked up 9 wickets in 6 matches of the PSL this season. Amir’s performance in the Bangladesh Premier League was also outstanding, and he is still trying to make a place in the national team squad. Amir’s Karachi Kings side has only managed to win 2 games in the league stage of the PSL. Karachi Kings will meet Quetta Gladiators in match No.22 of the PSL 2023.
