Former Indian middle-order batsman Ambati Rayadu said that his comments on the cultural difference between Mumbai and Chennai are taken out of context. Ambati Rayadu made a bizarre comment on culture among Mumbai Indians, saying that “brian will explode “if one plays for a long period of time for Mumbai Indians.
However, now Rayadu has given clarification on his statement. In his X post, Ambati Rayadu wrote, “My comments were taken out of context about Mumbai Indians. All I meant was that Mi’s processes are different and there is positive pressure in which a player is forged, excels, and becomes a complete player. A track record shows the kind of talent that Mi has produced for India.” I have loved my 8 years at MI. I am ever grateful. @mipaltan, please win some games fast.”
Earlier in his interaction with ESPN Cricinfo, Ambati Rayadu said that Chennai Super Kings have a better working culture than Mumbai Indians. Rayadu, who has been part of both successful franchises in the IPL, gave his opinion regarding the same.
Rayadu said, “I feel CSK has a much better environment. MI mey jyada khelne se brain phat jayega (Your brain will explode if you play long for MI),”
When I used to play for MI, my game improved a lot. If you had not won the match, they would not see an excuse. At the end of the day, you have to perform. MI has an environment where you keep getting better, and CSK has an environment where you will get better without any hassle,”
Rayadu added.
Rayadu further went on to say, “CSK focuses more on the process. They do not analyze the results much.
Their mood swings are not because of the results. MI is a bit different. MI mostly wants to win, and their culture is like everything depends on winning. They have a culture of jeetna hi hai (win is a must). Winning is non-negotiable.
“Both CSK and MI have two different cultures, but at the end of the day, both work hard.”
