What Is Ambati Rayudu’s Wish for Former MI Captain Rohit Sharma?

Former team India’s middle-order batter Ambati Rayadu has raised a wish for his former skipper Rohit Sharma. Ambati Rayadu says that he wants to see Rohit Sharma play for the Yellow Army in the upcoming years.

Ambati further went on to say that Rohit Sharma can play in the IPL for the next five years or more without any trouble.

Rohit Sharma has been sacked as the skipper of the Mumbai Indians, and Hardik Pandaya has been appointed as the captain on his behalf. The all-rounder was traded from the Gujarat Titans before the IPL auction and was made the new captain of the Mumbai Indians for the upcoming IPL season.

The franchise, on the other hand, gave their reason, saying that making Hardik Pandaya captain was completely based on cricketing logic, and they would love to see Rohit Sharma play with more freedom as a batter for the team.

Rohit Sharma emerged as one of the successful captains in the IPL, winning five IPL trophies as Mumbai Indians captain after taking the captaincy from Ponting in 2013.

It will be interesting to see how Rohit Sharma performs in the new role that is being assigned to him. On the other hand, it will be a huge task for Hardik Pandya to repeat his heroics as the skipper of the Gujarat Titans.

In his recent interaction with News 24 Rayadu said, “I want to see him play for CSK in the near future. He has played so long for the Mumbai Indians. It would be nice if he could play for CSK and win there as well. That’s (captaincy at CSK) upon him. Rohit has earned the right to take that call. It’s his call on whether or not he wants to lead or not.”

The 17th season of the IPL is set to start on March 22, with the Chennai Super Kings taking on RCB in the opening encounter of the tournament.
