The selection for India’s World Cup squad is just around the corner. There are many probable candidates who are knocking on the door for the World Cup selection.
However, as per reports, the selection committee has made it evident that inexperienced players like Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma will not be put into high stakes.
Team India is set to play a series against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka right after the T20 World Cup. In such a scenario, all these players will be considered for selection.
The report read, “The likes of Riyan Parag, Mayank Yadav, Abhishek Sharma, and Harshit Rana have all performed well, but it is understood that the selection committee would like to follow the process of easing them in via bilateral cricket instead of putting them to test in a high-stakes World T20 game.”
Both Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma are having their best season with the bat and are pure match winners for their teams.
The reports also said that the BCCI is keeping a close eye on Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Nitish Reddy.
Speaking about Nitish Reddy, the report read, “Nitish Reddy, who is a seam bowling all-rounder and was part of the India Emerging side that toured Sri Lanka last year, could also follow the same path.”
The BCCI is all set to take players like Aakash Madhwal, Harshit Rana, and Mayank Yadav as net bowlers, which will help them get good experience.
