What Does Jay Shah’s T20 World Cup Statement Reveal About Rahul Dravid’s Future as India Coach?

Team India is now featured in a five-match test series against England. With the two matches of the series already being played and the third match currently going on, India is set to play England for the last two matches of the series as well, which are scheduled in Ranchi and Dharamshala.

However, team India will feature in the mega showpiece event under the coachship of Rahul Dravid, who is going to be the head coach of team India till the T-20 World Cup, which is going to be held in June.

Earlier, Rahul Dravid’s contract with Team India was only until the 2023 World Cup but was extended by BCCI until the 2024 World Cup after a series of talks between Rahul Dravid and BCCI. In an event, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said that “Rahul Dravid had to leave for South Africa immediately, so there was no time in between for talk.

Jay Shah further added that Rahul Dravid will remain the head coach of team India till the 2024 World Cup.”

However, Jay Shah further said that BCCI will have a few more discussions with Rahul Dravid ahead of the mega-showpiece event. We did not get enough time to speak in between, as Team India is playing back-to-back series right now.”

Shah even further said that the IPL franchise needs to manage the workload of the players who are going to be part of the World Cup as a mandate from BCCI. Team India will play two more test matches against England before the Cash Rich League, which is expected to start on March 22.
