West Indies Have Announced Squad For T20 World Cup 2024, These 2 Players Make Comeback

The West Indies cricket board has announced their squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. They have already won this prestigious tournament two times and now they are looking forward to clinching the third title.

West Indies will be hosting the event alongside the USA, and the matches are scheduled to occur from June 1 to June 29. Rovman Powell has been chosen as the captain to lead the team in this significant competition.

The exciting candidate Shamar Joseph has secured a place in the squad, alongside the return of Shimron Hetmyer, who was absent during the T20I series against Australia. However, the batting all-rounder Kyle Mayers, who participated in the series against Australia is not part of the squad.

Cricket West Indies has not announced the list of any reserve players for the tournament. They become the tenth team to unveil their squad for the global tournament. India, New Zealand, England, Australia, and South Africa are among the major teams that have already announced their squads.

West Indies have secured victory in the T20 World Cup two times, in 2012 and 2014. They were the first team to achieve this feat twice, with England later matching it by securing their second T20 WC title in 2022.
