West Indies gets reprimanded by ICC due to this reason, Check out

The West Indies have been fined for having a slow over-rate during their first ODI match against England on May 29 in Edgbaston, Birmingham, according to the ICC website. Match referee Jeff Crowe handed down a five percent fine on each player’s match fee after Shai Hope’s team was found one over short of the required target at the end of their innings. This penalty follows Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which deals with minimum over-rate issues. Players are fined five percent of their match fee for each over their team fails to bowl in time.

West Indies captain Shai Hope accepted the fine without needing a formal hearing. The charge came from on-field umpires Kumar Dharmasena and Martin Saggers, along with third umpire Adrian Holdstock and fourth umpire Graham Lloyd.

In the match, England won by a huge 238 runs, scoring 400/8 thanks to strong half-centuries from Ben Duckett, Joe Root, Harry Brook, and Jacob Bethell. In response, the West Indies were bowled out for just 162, with Saqib Mahmood and Jamie Overton each taking three wickets. Although none of England’s players scored a century, Jacob Bethell stood out with an impressive 82, earning him the Player of the Match award.

The second match is currently happening in Cardiff, and the final game will be held at The Oval on Tuesday. Here’s the West Indies squad: Brandon King, Evin Lewis, Keacy Carty, Shai Hope (w/c), Amir Jangoo, Justin Greaves, Roston Chase, Matthew Forde, Alzarri Joseph, Gudakesh Motie, Shamar Joseph, Jediah Blades, Jewel Andrew, Jayden Seales, Sherfane Rutherford, and Shimron Hetmyer.
