Lucknow Super Giants created history and snatched victory from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by one wicket.

In the 15th IPL 2023, the KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) won a close and high-scoring match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the last ball of the match.

Batting first, RCB got off to a great start with the opening pair of Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis putting on a solid 96-run partnership.

Virat Kohli scored 61 runs on 44 balls with the help of 4 fours and 4 sixes. He was dismissed by Amit Mishra in the 12th over.

Glenn Maxwell joined du Plessis and added a quickfire 115 runs in just 50 balls for the second wicket.

Maxwell scored 59 off 29 balls with the help of 3 fours and 6 sixes. Mark Wood dismissed him in the final over.

Faf du Plessis remained unbeaten on 79 off 46 balls and helped the team put 212 runs on the board.

The start of LSG wasn’t good, and they lost their opener Kyle Mayers for a duck in the first over.

In the fourth over, Wayne Parnell picked up two quick wickets - Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya, making the chase look difficult for the LSG.

LSG fortunes started to turn around as Marcus Stoinis and skipper KL Rahul formed a crucial partnership of 76 runs for the third wicket. Karn Sharma dismissed Stoinis on a well-made 65 off just 30 balls.

Nicholas Pooran and impact substitute Ayush Badoni joined forces and stitched a vital partnership of 84 runs for the sixth wicket in just 35 balls.

Mohammed Siraj broke this partnership by dismissing Pooran, who played a blistering knock of 62 runs in just 19 balls.

For the quickfire of 62 runs in just 19 balls with the help of four fours and seven sixes, Pooran was adjudged the player of the match.
