We Won’t See Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma & KL Rahul After 90 Days In T20I, Aakash Chopra Bold  Statement On The Future Of Team India

The T20 format of cricket is undergoing rapid evolution. The recent IPL is the biggest example where big names are failing to contribute with the bat while the budding youngsters are doing extremely well. Rather than playing the anchor role the batters from the new era are looking to play aggressive cricket and they are up to the bowlers from the first ball only.

The prospects of key Indian cricket players such as current skipper Rohit Sharma, former skipper Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul are becoming increasingly relevant. There is a plethora of talented options available within the Indian squad which has shown their potential in the current ongoing IPL 2023. The former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri recently suggested that the team should start considering alternatives for these three batters. Now the former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has expressed a similar opinion and said that within 90 days the whole story for Rohit Sharma, Kohli, and KL Rahul will be changed and youngsters will start grabbing their places in the team.

The rise of Yashavi Jaiswal has put the swords on the future of many existing players in the current Indian squad. Aakash Chopra supported Ravi Shastri and said that KL Rahul’s place in the team will be a big question as Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan are performing brilliantly as openers.

The former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra said that it would be difficult for players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul to adapt to the change and approach in T20 cricket.

While having a conversation with Hindustan Times, Chopra said, “I won’t see his (Rahul’s) case to be in isolation in any way, to begin with. I feel the next generation of cricketers for this format is almost getting ready and the previous generation of players will find it increasingly difficult to be a part of the new template. If India, as they said in the last T20 World Cup that they are looking for a new template to play T20 cricket in, continues to play in the same fashion, you will see a lot of the previous generation players not being part of the T20 scheme of things.”

“This is an ODI World Cup year so anyway India will be playing fewer T20I games in the remaining year, but whatever matches they play, I don’t think you will see Kohli, Rohit or Rahul play. You don’t even know when Rahul will actually be available. That is why I’m saying, things will change in the next 90 days,” Chopra added.
