“We Want To Go With…..” Dhawan Bold Statement On Sanju Samson Exclusion

India vs New Zealand 2nd ODI is washed-out due to rain but the team management controversial decision has raised eyebrows of many cricket experts. At the toss when Dhawan announced the changes in the playing 11, star batter Sanju Samson missed out and he was replaced by Deepak Hooda and this decision took everyone with surprise.

Many cricket pundit believed that some of the youngsters are getting too many chances whereas players like Sanju Samson is being ignored. Sanju Samson hadn’t got the chance to play in three match T20I series against the same opponent and now in the 2nd ODI when management wanted to go with sixth bowling option, then again, they have dropped Sanju and included Deepak Hooda in his place.

In the post match presentation when captain Dhawan was asked about this surprised omission of Sanju Samson, he said, he was unfortunate to miss out because we wanted to go with sixth bowling option and thus decided to include Deepak Hooda in place of Sanju.

As the 2nd ODI of this 3 match ODI series is washed out and in third match as well team management will want to stick with this combination only. By seeing team management priorities it seems that Sanju Samson is not in their scheme of things for 2023 ODI World Cup.
