Watch: “Ye wo isko usko…”Shreyas Iyer makes a funny revelation about Rohit’s way of dealing with players

Rohit Sharma is known for his forgetfulness among cricket fans. The captain of the team that won the T20 World Cup often leaves out words when he speaks at press conferences and public events.

Shreyas Iyer, another Indian player, talked about this during the CEAT Cricket Awards in Mumbai on August 21. He was asked how the team deals with Rohit’s absent-mindedness. Iyer said it’s never a problem because everyone in the team understands what Rohit means when he says “yeh, woh, isko, usko.”

“These are like completing sentences with missing words for us. We just imagine who he might be talking about at that moment, and we get his emotions. We’ve been playing together for many years. And what he’s trying to express isn’t that he’s being unclear. We know exactly what he means,” Shreyas Iyer said in a popular video.

At that moment, Rohit Sharma was on stage to receive the CEAT Men’s International Cricketer of the Year award. Responding to Iyer, the Indian opening batsman said, “There’s a simple story behind this. I always tell them to play their natural game on the field. To do that, I first need to play my natural game. That’s just who I am.” His sincere statement was met with loud applause from everyone at the event.

Mohammed Shami also talked about some parts of Rohit Sharma’s leadership during the award ceremony. The experienced Indian fast bowler agreed with the sentiment and noted that all the players in the team understand how Rohit communicates.

Regarding the Indian team leader’s behavior during games, Shami mentioned, “He allows you to have freedom as a leader. However, if you don’t meet the expectations and fail to carry out the strategies, he becomes upset.”

Shreyas Iyer was also recognized at the 26th CEAT Cricket Awards. He was given a special item to acknowledge his “Excellent Leadership” during the previous Indian Premier League (IPL) season. With him as captain, Kolkata Knight Riders won their third IPL championship in May, defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets at Chepauk.
