Watch: Virat Kohli’s special gesture for R Ashwin wins the internet

On the Fourth day of the first Test match against Bangladesh played in Chennai on Sunday, Indian cricket team star batter Virat Kohli went to the extent of bowing to Ravichandran Ashwin as the spinner completed his five wickets in the match. Ashwin went on to end with six wickets in the second innings and India easily won by a huge margin of 280 runs. This was the 37 th five wickets haul by Ashwin who leveled the great Australian leg spinner Shane Warne. In the 58th over of the Bangladesh chase, Mehidy Hasan Miraz fell to Ashwin’s bowling as the other teammates rejoiced in the getting out of a player and Virat bowed down congratulating Ashwin on his achievement.

In other news, the national selectors on Sunday, named the same Indian team, which kicked off the series by beating Bangladesh by 280 runs in the first Test for the second and final match in Kanpur.

Overall, the home team won the first Test with almost five sessions remaining. Prior to the start of the series, there were even some thoughts that because of the workload management strategy in the second game, some players of the Indian team, including the lead fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, would be rested.

“The Men’s Selection Committee has retained the same squad for the second Test of the IDFC FIRST Bank Test series against Bangladesh,” read a BCCI statement.

The second Test shall be conducted in Kanpur from September 27.

Captain Rohit Sharma before the commencement of the first Test match against Bangladesh had stated that India will do the test match in the same process that they did in their recent visit to England- earlier this year.

All-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin put the icing on the cake of his poor show with the ball after taking a six-wicket haul as India thrashed Bangladesh by a huge margin on the fourth and final day of the first Test to lead the two-match test series 1-0.

With the insurmountable goal of 515 runs placed on them, Bangladesh managed to score only 234 runs in their second innings, with Ashwin (6/88) who had scored a century in the first innings doing all the damage at the Chepauk.

India declared their second innings at 287 for 4 with the help of two centuries from Rishabh Pant (109) and Shubman Gill (119), thus taking an overall lead of 514.
