Watch: Vijay Mallya’s son Siddharth blames BCCI and IPL for removing his IPL celebration video

When the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) snagged the IPL title on June 3, fans and cricket lovers couldn’t hold back their excitement. After 18 years of waiting, Virat Kohli, the team owners, and supporters finally got to experience what it’s like to be champions. Even Siddharth Mallya, the son of the franchise’s former owner, celebrated with a video on Instagram. Unfortunately, it got taken down by Instagram due to copyright issues.

Siddharth later explained in a video that he got banned from posting anything on Instagram because of that copyright claim. He said, Instagram took my video down and banned me from the app for some reason. After digging around, he found out the IPL reached out to Instagram about the video.

He was pretty frustrated, saying, The ban was lifted yesterday. The IPL complained that I violated their copyright policy, which is just crazy. The video was short and all about my feelings. It’s disappointing that I couldn’t celebrate or connect with fans. In the deleted video, Siddharth shared his emotions after RCB’s win against Punjab Kings, saying, Eighteen long years… I don’t even know what to say, while wiping away tears.
