Before the 50-over World Cup, Asia Cup 2023 is another great event upon which fans are looking at. The schedule of the tournament is already out and the fans are eagerly waiting for the much awaited India-Pakistan clash.
After the announcement of the schedule, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) arranged a grand event under the leadership of its head Zaka Ashraf to reveal the schedule. Not to forget, Pakistan will jointly host the tournament along with Sri Lanka due to the hybrid model proposed by the BCCI.
Meanwhile, the PCB head Zaka Ashraf made a hilarious comment while having a conversation with the crowd. He talked about the strength of the current Pakistan team and mistakenly called Shaheen Afridi as the best batter among the top-10 batters list. The surprising part was, he did not count Shaheen in the bowlers list.
In the ceremony, Ashraf said,”There is strength in both our batting and bowling. If you talk about batting, our captain [Babar Azam] is number one [ranked batter] in the world. If you talk about others, then Pakistan batters are among the top-five [in the rankings].”
“If you talk about Shaheen Shah Afridi, his name comes in the top 10 batters. So, the way the Pakistan team is playing, my best wishes are with them,” he added.
The video of Ashraf is getting Viral on social media, and numerous fans are mocking Ashraf and his remarks. It is known that Afridi is an absolute impactful and influential fast bowler in international cricket, but calling him as a top-10 batter is totally baffling for the fans.
