India stormed into the semi-finals with a convincing victory against Zimbabwe, and now they are just two victories away from realizing their ambition of winning the 2022 T20 World Cup. At the Melbourne Cricket Ground, The Men in Blue’s 71-run victory secured them as group 2 table toppers.
At the Adelaide Cricket Ground on Thursday, the team captained by Rohit Sharma will face England in the semifinal (November 10). The 2010 champs were many people’s pre-tournament favorites, thus the matchup should be an entertaining one.
After the Zimbabwe game, Ravichandran Ashwin and Suryakumar Yadav interact with Indian supporters and deliver a hilarious message ahead of the match. On being prompted to address the crowd by Suryakumar on BCCI.TV.
Ashwin said ‘Switch on TV, order your snacks, enjoy the game, and then we will deal with it later.’

With a total of 226 runs in the competition so far, including three half-centuries, Suryakumar has been one of the main drivers of India’s amazing performance. He trails just teammate Virat Kohli in terms of runs scored during the competition.
Suryakumar explained his recent form and how he plans his innings. He said, “If you look at the boundary here, it is 80-84 meters, here the square boundary is also 75-80 meters big. I think just the rear boundary is small which is 60-65 meters. So I look at hitting in that direction and I have been successful in that.”
He added, “When I was young, I used to play cricket with a lot of rubber balls with my friends. He used to bowl fast with the wet ball from 17-18 yards. These shots came from there. I did not practice these shots in the nets.”
With the ball, Ashwin has so far claimed six wickets in five contests. He contributed significantly with the bat, scoring the winning runs in the nail-biting game against Pakistan’s last ball and making a crucial cameo against Bangladesh.
