In the T20 Blast 2023 match on Friday, the star pacer of Pakistan Shaheen Afridi who is part of Nottinghamshire crushed the batting lineup of Birmingham Bears in the first over itself. The match was played at Trent Bridge where he finished his bowling figures 4-0-29-4.
After the Outlaws set a target of 169 runs for the Bears, Afridi made a fantastic start for his team. Although his first ball went for a wide and cost five runs for the team as extra, he came back strongly and showed what damage he can do with the new ball.

Shaheen Afridi got Alex Davies on a powerful inswing yorker which made it difficult for Davies to defend. Davies was sent back to the Pavilion on zero runs. Right after that, Afridi bowled a low full-toss to Chris Benjamin, who had attempted a scoop shot in advance. However, he missed it and the ball hit the boundary and uprooted the stumps.
However, even after the efforts from Shaheen Afridi, Nottinghamshire lost the match by two wickets. Yates turned out to be the hero for Birmingham and he smashed 65 runs in 46 balls which included three fours and five maximums.
