Watch Video – Rahul Tripathi gets emotional as he receives his maiden T20I cap from batting coach

In the second Twenty20 International, India will play Sri Lanka at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. For batsman Rahul Tripathi, who will finally play for the Indian national team in the tournament, it was a special moment before the game.

The Maharashtrian is making his debut on his home field, where he plays domestic cricket, at an extremely emotional moment. Vikram Rathorethe Indian team’s batting coach presented him with his first cap.

Sanju Samson, who is injured, is likely replaced on the field by Rahul Tripathi. Samson hurt his knee during the first T20I match against Sri Lanka while attempting to take a catch. Later scans revealed the seriousness of his injuries, and he was forced to withdraw from the last two games of the series. As a backup, Punjab King’s wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma was added. Rahul Tripathi, however, was the one who received the debut cap.

During the earlier 2022 visit to Ireland, Tripathi received his first call-up to the national team. He was on the team during the ODI series against South Africa at home. He also participated in the squad for the ODI series against Zimbabwe and the squad for the ODIs against Bangladesh. He eventually got his long wait for a call-up to the national squad, but he still hadn’t received it.
Rahul Tripathi had a fantastic IPL 2022 for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, scoring 413 runs and leading an unimpressive SRH team in performance.

India has made one more move in addition to replacing Samson with Rahul Tripathi by inserting Arshdeep Singh in place of Harshal Patel. In the first T20I, Shivam Mavi, who got four wickets against Sri Lanka in his first game for India, is back in the lineup.
