In the seventh match of the IPL 2024, Chennai Super Kings beat last year’s runner-up Gujarat Titans by a huge margin of 63 runs. With this Chennai has attained the first position with two consecutive wins.
Meanwhile, former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni dazzled the crowd at Chepauk with a remarkable catch to dismiss Gujarat Titans all-rounder Vijay Shankar.
In the 8th over of the match, Shankar nicked a delivery from Daryl Mitchell outside off-stump. Despite the ball traveling swiftly towards Dhoni’s right, the 42-year-old veteran showcased his agility by leaping and securing the catch with both hands. The crowd of over 33,000 spectators inside the stadium erupted into one of the most thunderous cheers ever witnessed in IPL history.

As we know, MS Dhoni left the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings at the start of the season and Ruturaj Gaikwad is the new captain of the team. Fans have been eagerly waiting for MS Dhoni to come to the crease and bat however, the former captain is yet to bat in this edition.
Talking about the match, while batting first, Chennai scored 206 runs at the loss of six wickets and restricted Gujarat Titans to 143/8 to win their second game of this season.
