Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants are facing each other in the 43rd match of the Indian Premier League being played at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. In this match, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Far Du Plessis won the toss and elected to bat first.
However, things did not start well for the Lucknow team and the LSG skipper injured himself in an attempt to stop a boundary against the RCB.RCB openers Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis gave an impressive start to the team. Meanwhile, RCB skipper Du Plessis hit the ball in the cover region. Rahul tried to stop the ball while chasing it but fell short and injured himself near the boundary. KL Rahul looked in extreme pain after his effort and the LSG physio came to the ground and took the skipper to the dressing room. With the video surfacing online, Rahul had most probably got hamstring injury as he has injured his right thigh.
The omission of KL Rahul from the field could possibly increase the problem for the LSG as he has been one of the most consistent batters for the team along with his partner Kyle Mayers. It would be interesting to see if KL Rahul comes to bat or not, if not then who would take the stance for LSG as opener.
