Watch VIDEO: Jonny Bairstow Hilariously Carried The Invader To Take Him Off The Field During The 2nd Game Of Ashes

The second Test of the Ashes Series 2023 is being played between Australia and England at the Lord’s Cricket Ground. On the very first day, the fans experienced a quirky incident where two invaders entered the pitch after the very first over and disturbed the game for some time.

During this incident, the wicket-keeper batter of England, Jonny Bairstow carried the invader and took him off the field. This moment was enjoyed by the audience sitting in the stadium and Australian opener David Warner and Ben Stokes also helped to stop the protester from entering the ground. This event is now getting viral among the fans on social media and they are going gaga over Bairstow’s take.

After this incident, the ground staff cleaned up the spilled powder paint from the outfield. Jonny Bairstow also left the field to change into a fresh set of cricket whites. Unfortunately, due to this entire incident, there was a delay of six minutes in the game. It’s worth noting that the group responsible for the intrusion, Just Stop Oil, is a coalition of environmental action groups known for disrupting several prominent sporting events in the past including Premier League Football matches, the final of rugby union’s Premiership, and the World Snooker Championship.

Despite the incident and the challenging playing conditions, Australia openers David Warner and Usman Khawaja displayed superb temperament and successfully prevented England from taking an early wicket. England had won the toss and chose to bowl first in this match.

It was the second game of the match and the first was won by Australia by two wickets at Edgbaston.
