Former Indian cricketers Sreesanth and Gautam Gambhir engaged in a heated exchange during the Eliminator of Legends League Cricket between the Gujarat Giants and India Capitals on December 6.
The incident happened in the second over of the game when the former Indian left-handed opener Gautam Gambhir struck Sreesanth for a six-over deep mid-wicket. On the very next ball, he came up with a splendid off-drive for a boundary quickly reaching double figures.
As events unfolded, Gautam Gambhir remained unfazed by the incident, showcasing resilience to score a crucial 51 off 30 deliveries. The India Capitals skipper adorned his innings with seven boundaries and a six, contributing significantly to the team’s placing a total of 223/7 in 20 overs.
In response, Chris Gayle put up a brilliant effort with a breathtaking 84 off 55 balls for the Gujarat Giants. However, despite his impressive innings, the team fell short by 12 runs in their chase to a mammoth total.
The second qualifier is scheduled to take place on Thursday, December 7 and the final will be played on Saturday, December 9.
