English all-rounder Ben Stokes has joined the Chennai Super Kings camp and has started his training for the 2023 IPL. He attended his first-ever practice session with CSK at the Chepauk Stadium. Stokes was acquired by CSK for INR 16.25 crore during the mini-auction last December.
While training he was seen hitting massive sixes and giving warnings to the other teams. Ben Stokes arrived in Chennai early on Friday morning and started his practice session in the evening. He was seen hitting the nets in an open net on the center pitch as per the video clips shared on various social media platforms.
During the practice session, Stokes smashed two massive sixes. In one of the frames, he hit a delivery from a right-arm pacer straight over the bowler’s head. In the other instance, he dispatched a throwdown over the long-off area.
The Chennai Super Kings team shared a video of Ben Stokes hitting sixes on their official Instagram account and captioned it, “Ben Den #SuperForce.”
Chennai Super Kings will play their first match of the IPL 2023 against the defending champion Gujarat Titans on March 31 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
