In the eighth match of Major League Cricket 2023, San Francisco Unicorns beat Los Angeles Knight Riders by 21 runs. However, the all-rounder of LAKR, Andre Russell was in full swing with his bat in this match and showed his power-hitting abilities.
While chasing a huge target of 213 runs, Jason Roy provided a spectacular start for LAKR with blazing innings of 45 runs off just 21 deliveries. However, he couldn’t convert it into a big score. The Knight Riders faced some setbacks during the middle overs when they lost a couple of wickets, putting them in a difficult position. Then Russell came and changed the momentum in favor of the Riders.
Russell could not do anything in the first two matches but in this match, he came back strongly and smashed the bowlers out of the park. He added 75 runs with Sunil Narine but this partnership was not enough to take the team home.
Russell remained unbeaten on 42 off 26 deliveries. During this inning, he hammered a six that went 108 meters long out of the ground.
This is the third consecutive defeat of Los Angeles Knight Riders and they are currently holding the bottom position in the points table. In the match, they will face Washington Freedom at Church Street Park.
