The star T20 batter of team India Suryakumar Yadav has said that he underwent a successful sports hernia surgery. The accomplished Indian batter, who is currently the top-ranked T20I batsman globally, has now undergone two surgeries in a brief period. Before this, he had an ankle injury.
While writing in an Instagram post, Suryakumar Yadav wrote, “Surgery is done,” and he also added he will be back “very soon”.
“I want to thank everyone for their concerns and well wishes for my health, and I am happy to tell you all that I will be back very soon,” he added.
Suryakumar Yadav suffered an ankle injury during the T20I series of the South Africa tour last month. The 33-year-old twisted his ankle while fielding in the third T20I at the New Wanderers Stadium, leading to the necessity of surgery.
The dual surgeries are anticipated to sideline him for a certain period. However, as per several media reports, Suryakumar Yadav is expected to make a comeback in time for the IPL 2024, where he will continue to represent the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians.
Due to the injury, Suryakumar Yadav is currently absent from the ongoing three-match T20I series between India and Afghanistan.
