Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has featured star Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana in their “Bold Diaries” series as part of the build-up to the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024.
In an engaging Q&A session, the left-handed batswoman Smriti Mandhana provided insights into her career, sources of inspiration, and personal experiences.
In response to a question about her favorite cricketers, Mandhana mentioned former Sri Lankan batter Kumar Sangakkara and former Indian legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar, expressing her admiration for both players.
She also described the star Indian batter Virat Kohli and simply termed him a – “Run Machine”.
For the upcoming WPL season, Mandhana aims to concentrate on her performance rather than setting specific targets. She also expressed her desire to explore Bengaluru’s renowned dosa cuisine during her time playing for RCB.
England pacer Kate Cross challenged Mandhana to bat right-handed, to which the Indian player responded by expressing her hope that Cross is equally ineffective at batting left-handed.

The Women’s Premier League’s second edition is set to kick off on Friday, February 23, featuring a match between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals in a rematch of last year’s final. The tournament opener is scheduled to take place at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. With a total of 22 matches, the action-packed season will culminate in the title clash on March 17 in Delhi.
