Indian cricketers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma brightened a young fan’s day in Sri Lanka by taking a photo with him after their practice. Before the start of a three-match one-day international series, Kohli was seen walking over to the fan.
The young boy was holding a picture of Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma, both holding the T20 World Cup 2024 Trophy with the Indian flag behind them. Kohli signed the picture and then stood with the boy for a photo, with Rohit joining in, showing a kind gesture from the Indian batting stars.
Meanwhile, Rohit is set to play in the one-day international (ODI) cricket series after being away for eight months. His last ODI appearance was in the 2023 World Cup final. As the Indian team captain, he was the tournament’s second-highest run scorer, with 597 runs in 11 innings, averaging 54.27 runs per innings and a strike rate of 125.94.
He also ranked second in the 2024 T20 World Cup, scoring 257 runs in eight innings, averaging 36.71 runs per innings and a strike rate of 156.70, including three half-centuries. As an opening batsman, Rohit is keen to maintain his good form in the upcoming series and continue his strong performance in the 50-over format.
Virat Kohli will play in the 50-over format again after a break of seven months since the ODI World Cup. The great batsman broke many records in the tournament by scoring a huge 765 runs in 11 innings, with an average of 95.62 and a strike rate of 90.31. He scored three centuries and six fifties.
The next series is very important for both batsmen because India is set to play only six matches before the Champions Trophy 2025. So, it’s very important for these star players to perform well before the big event as India aims to win another ICC trophy.
