Riyan Parag’s mother was filled with joy as her son grabbed the orange cap after his stealthy performance against the Mumbai Indians.
Coming in to chase the target of 126, Rajasthan lost three wickets early in the chase; however, Riyan Parag held his composure and played a delightful knock of 54*, helping his team win their third match of the season.
After the completion of the match, Riyan Parag was seen receiving a warm hug from his mother, who also handed the young batter an orange cap as he topped the list of run scorers in this IPL.
After the match, Parag also revealed the changes that he made in his game.
Parag said, “Actually, I’ve simplified everything instead of trying to do a lot of things. Earlier, when I wasn’t getting runs, I would try a lot of different things. This year, it’s just seeing the ball and hitting the ball. When I play domestically, this is the exact kind of situation I go into.”
Parag further added, ” When Jos bhai and Ash bhai got out, I thought to myself, This is what I do in domestic cricket. So that’s what I calculated.”
With three consecutive wins in the season, the Rajasthan Royals have once again topped the table with six points and a run rate of +1.249.
They are followed by the Knight Riders, who have won both matches so far this season.
