WATCH: Rishabh Pant Interacted To Team India Players At M Chinnaswamy During Practise Session

In a positive development, star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has hinted that he is near to attaining full match fitness. This indication came after he participated in a batting practice session at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium before the Indian cricket team’s training session for the 3rd T20I against Afghanistan scheduled for January 17.

Pant had a net session for at least 20 minutes where he took on throwdowns from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) Staff. After executing a few drives and gentle nudges, Pant joined the India cricketers and engaged in conversation with them.

Pant engaged in a discussion with the Indian team’s side-arm specialist Raghu before proceeding to interact with Virat Kohli and Rinku Singh.

Pant has been in the process of recovery at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) following a serious car accident in December 2022. The accident necessitated ligament reconstruction surgeries for him.

Pant is anticipated to make his comeback during the IPL 2024, where he has been designated as the captain of the Delhi Capitals. He was also seen on the table of the DC franchise during the mini-auction for IPL 2024.

The director of cricket for Delhi Capitals, Sourav Ganguly also showed confidence in Pant’s playing the IPL 2024.

The former Indian captain said, “He’s (Pant) good now. He will play in the IPL next season. There’s still time for him to get down to practice. By January (2024), he’ll get even better.”
