The vice-captain of Gujarat Titans Rashid Khan played a superb knock of 79 runs against Mumbai Indians when no other batsmen from GT showed intent. However, even after this heroics, Gujarat faced a 27-run defeat. While talking about his innings, Rashid said that it was the best and most memorable innings of his career.
With his exceptional inning, where Rashid Khan remained unbeaten and scored 79 runs off 32 balls, set a new record for the highest individual score by a number 8 batsman in the history of the Indian Premier League.
Rashid Khan’s blistering innings of 79 runs which included 10 sixes and 3 fours saved Gujarat Titans from a potentially devastating loss and took the match very close. He surpassed Pat Cummins who earlier had the record for the most individual runs while batting at the 8th position in IPL. Playing for KKR in 2021, Pat Cummins smashed 66 runs in just 34 balls.

During this knock of 79 runs, Rashid Khan smashed 10 sixes which is also the highest number of sixes in an inning by any Gujarat Batsman.
