Watch: “I want to provide…”Bumrah’s reply to a question takes the internet by Storm

CRIC Informer

Aptly referred to as the ‘Kohinoor’ of Indian cricket, Jasprit Bumrah is arguably the most significant figure in Indian cricket across all three formats at this point in time. To ensure that India emerged as champions of T20 World Cup 2024, his pace and accuracy were vital factors, thus marking him as an essential component in the national team’s ambitions of bringing home more ICC trophies in future years. Despite not being a particularly talkative cricketer by any means, Bumrah shocked everyone after being asked whether he ever faced any ‘tough’ batsmen during his entire career having troubled him.

An online clip purportedly shared by other cricket lovers has shown Bumrah being asked; “Is there any batsman who you think was hard to bowl too?” This truly was an answer from someone with such an extraordinary mind.

“I want to provide a proper response; however, the truth is that I do not desire anyone to dominate me mentally as I always respect everyone. Nonetheless, within me, I tell myself that if my performance is good enough, then nobody can stop me from what I do in this life.

“”Thus, it’s all about self and not opponent since if I assume that I have everything under control and give myself the best chance possible all other issues settle themselves but rather transferring the authority to the batsman whom he will triumph over me and regard himself as superior,” he stated as a reply.

The T20 World Cup 2024 saw Bumrah take up 15 wickets at an average of 8.26, with an economy rate of only 4.17. As India ended their decade-long wait for an ICC title, he was awarded the Player of the Tournament.

Currently, the bowler is on a sabbatical and it is uncertain whether he would play in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh
