Watch: “Haan, humko bulao, hum sabko sikhayega…”: Former Indian Coach Ravi Shastri Open To Be England’s Head Coach

In a surprising turn of events, former Team India coach Ravi Shastri has expressed his willingness to take up the role of England’s head coach. This intriguing revelation comes in the wake of England’s lacklustre performance in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which has led to calls for the removal of the current head coach, Matthew Mott.

Matthew Mott assumed the role of head coach for the England cricket team in May of the previous year. He made an instant impact by guiding the team to victory in the T20 World Cup, earning accolades for his coaching prowess.

However, the ongoing World Cup has not been as kind to Mott and the England squad. Despite entering the competition as the reigning champions and strong contenders for the title, they faced a series of unexpected setbacks.

With each passing game, England’s title defence crumbled. They managed just a single victory in their first seven matches, a far cry from their expected dominance.

The turning point arrived on November 8 when they finally secured a win, breaking their five-match losing streak. They emerged victorious over the Netherlands, defeating the Dutch outfit by a significant margin of 160 runs and moving up to the seventh spot in the points table.

During England’s match against the Netherlands, keen observers noticed an amusing placard in the stands that read, “England needs an Indian coach.” This sign caught the attention of former England captain Eoin Morgan, who was in the commentary box alongside Ravi Shastri.

In response to Morgan’s inquiry about the fan’s suggestion, Ravi Shastri, the former India head coach, left everyone amused. In his characteristic style, he remarked, “Haan, humko bulao, hum sabko sikhayega hindi,” which translates to, “Yes, call us, we’ll teach everyone Hindi.” He further added, “Not a problem; I’ll teach everyone Hindi and some cricket as well.”

Ravi Shastri had a remarkable tenure as the head coach of the Indian cricket team, spanning more than four years. He took charge in 2017 after India’s loss in the final of the Champions Trophy. Although India did not secure an ICC trophy during his tenure, their performance in bilateral assignments was highly impressive.
