Indian cricket stars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have returned to the team for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. They will be playing an international match after a month’s break. After India won the 2024 T20 World Cup, Virat and Rohit decided to retire from T20I cricket, but they are still available for ODI and Test matches. The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka will be held at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on August 2.
Before the first ODI, the Indian players practiced at the stadium, and Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma caught everyone’s attention with their impressive batting in the nets.
While Virat and Rohit were dominating the bowlers, India’s new head coach Gautam Gambhir closely observed their practice session.
KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer participated in batting practice. Bowlers Kuldeep Yadav and Harshit Rana also tried their hand at batting in the nets, while Iyer practiced his spin bowling with the batters.
India’s tour of Sri Lanka began on July 27 with the T20I series, where India won by 43 runs. In the second T20I, India achieved a seven-wicket victory in a match affected by rain. The visitors won the third match in a Super Over.
The R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo will host the 50-over matches. The second and third ODIs are scheduled for August 4 and August 7, respectively.
