Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, who have been seen as both heroes and villains in contrasting situations, are teaming up to silence the ‘masala’ that has dominated their relationship on social media for years. Gambhir and Kohli have engaged in many well-recognized fights while they were on the cricket pitch, especially during the Indian Premier League (IPL), which led to division within their fandoms on social networks. However, this time around, rumors regarding their respective character were put to rest by BCCI through an interview representation for the very first time ever when these two share a common dressing room as a coach-player couple in the national cricket team of India.
In a short clip shared by BCCI via social media platforms, Kohli and Gambhir were seen jabbing at one another over the numerous incidents when they clashed with players from other teams. He did however ask Gambhir about his mental state during such competitions; it surprised him so much that it left him momentarily dumbfounded apart from his surprise.
Virat Kohli: When you are batting and you have a bit of a chat with the opposition, did you ever feel like this might carry on to you going out of the zone and potentially getting out, or it put you in a more motivated state?
Gautam Gambhir: You have had more altercations than I have. I think you can answer that question, better than I can.
Virat Kohli (laughing): Main to ye dhund raha hun ki koi meri baat se agree kar jaye. Ye nahi bol raha ki galat hai. Koi to bole haan, yahi hota hai (I am only looking for someone who agrees with what I have to say. Not saying that it is wrong. At least someone should say, yes this is what happens).
Kohli and Gambhir were really important for Team India during the 2011 ODI World Cup. They are now working hand in hand in order to help this country achieve greater heights in world cricket as a player and coach respectively
