During the third day of the 4th Test in Ranchi, Indian captain Rohit Sharma jokingly admonished Sarfaraz Khan for not wearing a helmet before being assigned to the field at silly point. Rohit conveyed the warning in a humorous manner.
The incident occurred when England had eight wickets down, with Shoaib Bashir and Ben Foakes at the crease. Rohit Sharma desired to apply pressure on Bashir, prompting the arrival of KS Bharat with a helmet and an abdominal guard.
Nonetheless, Sarfaraz was prepared to field without a helmet. Rohit Sharma approached the young batsman closely to issue a warning.
Dinesh Karthik who has been part of the commentary team said, “Rohit Sharma says Aye bhai hero nahi banne ka. Very Rohit Sharma style to say, not the usual way – don’t try to be a hero, wear a helmet.”
