Ashish Nehra was really upset during the IPL 2025 match between his team, Gujarat Titans, and the Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday. The game got interrupted twice by rain, and the second delay, just before midnight, had everyone anxious. The umpires kept changing the restart time from 12:09 AM to 12:25 AM to 12:30 AM. Nehra was frustrated because it seemed to take forever to get things going again, even though the rain had stopped. Rahul Tewatia from GT shared his anger.
The game was a real rollercoaster because of those rain breaks. The Mumbai Indians fought back and took the lead, but the Gujarat Titans managed to nail 15 runs in one over to reach the updated target of 147 runs in 19 overs, winning by three wickets thanks to the DLS method. The match wrapped up past midnight, with Titans needing 15 runs off just six balls. Tewatia hit a four off Deepak Chahar, and Gerald Coetzee followed that up with a six. Chahar bowled a no-ball which allowed them to grab a double, and Tewatia added a single on the fourth ball.
In a twist of fate, when the scores were tied, Chahar got Coetzee out, but he missed a chance to run out the non-striker. In the end, the Gujarat Titans pulled off the win and jumped to the top of the points table, ending Mumbai Indians’ six-match winning streak. Former champions Gujarat Titans had shown great bowling and batting midway through the game but then faced a comeback from Mumbai when Jasprit Bumrah took out key players Shubman Gill and Shahrukh Khan. Trent Boult and Ashwani Kumar also made important strikes, helping Mumbai look strong for a while.
