BCCI released a video of India’s inaugural practice at the ICC Cricket Academy in Dubai, which was organized before the Champions Trophy. The two-time title-holders landed in Dubai to participate in the ICC event on Saturday, February 15, and began practice on Sunday to polish their preparations and gear up for Bangladesh on February 20, Thursday. Following the exemplary practice ahead of the main event-see. The finalists of 2017 beat England in the ODI series 3-0. And they hope to maintain the dressing momentum before heading into the Bangladesh game.
The video indicated an informal practice and nets session for all the players. A bit of jogging was accompanied by light running. Before refinement into skills practice, with bat or ball. The clip also featured a couple of humorous clips, including the rookie pacer Harshit Rana. In the first such moment, there was a light-hearted banter where Arshdeep Singh almost trolled Harshit over a language gag.
At the start of the video, Arshdeep said, “Hello, namaskar aap sab ka swagat hai Dubai mein humari pehli practice ke liye” (Hello everyone, welcome to Dubai for our first practice), which got into Harshit teaching it to him in English.
“This is our first practice in Dubai at the ICC Cricket Academy for the Champions Trophy,” said Rana. Arshdeep quickly jumped in with, “Arre, English finish for one month.” To this, Rishabh Pant and Arshdeep both shared a chuckle. In another moment, Harshit played a terrific lofted shot straight down the ground, which Pant appreciated while waiting for his turn to bat.
However, assistant coach Abhishek Nayar did not want him to have an air game, so he insisted he would not play in the air. In immediately turning his response, 180 degrees, Pant supported Nayar’ s argument and laughed. The players were in good spirits, and since most of the players were available, they would, therefore, be raring to go for the Champions Trophy.
